100 young people will engage the country

2005-04-14
More than 20 different youth organisations are now co-operating to begin a national mobilisation of the work concerning HIV/AIDS.

All of the political youth organisations in Norway, along with other organisations, are now working together to get HIV/AIDS on the agenda. This will conclude with a large conference in Tromsø on June 10. This effort is a co-operation with 46664 Arctic, and is one of the many additional events that are focussing on this important matter.

The youth conference in Tromsø is separated into three different levels:

On a personal level, every individual is challenged to do what they can to hinder the spread of HIV.

On a national level, the young people will challenge Norwegian politicians and the cabinet about what they are doing - and not doing - in respect to HIV/AIDS.

On a global perspective, there will be a discussion about how the young people of Norway can influence international politicians and organisations.

The co-ordinator of the youth conference is Kjersti Engen Marsdal, who was previously closely involved with mobilising youth.
