"I hope the concert can help focus on how we can join together to contribute in the fight to combat HIV/AIDS," Mr Bondevik says.
The Prime Minister has just confirmed his involvement in 46664 Arctic in Tromsø on June 11. Mr Bondevik says he has big expectations for international event, which is mainly designed to put work concerning HIV/AIDS on the agenda.
"A successful 46664 concert in Tromsø will create attention and commitment for the HIV/AIDS epidemic," he says. "I hope the concert will also lead to a significant sum of money being collected to combat the HIV/AIDS epidemic. The need for help is enormous, including in our neighbouring country Russia."
Mr Bondevik also praised the host city, Tromsø, for its commitment in the fight against HIV/AIDS. "Tromsø has shown itself to be a city with a big international commitment. I am grateful for the local initiative in conjunction with this concert and hope it can help focus on how we can join together to contribute in the fight to combat HIV/AIDS."
The artists who perform at the concert will join national and international ambassadors in appealing for more to be done in the work against HIV/AIDS.
